Seddonendo, Practice Limited to Endodontics

Dr. Bill Seddon

Happy New Year

Back to work again for 2024.

So nice to see friends new and old in Orlando and we learned lots at the International Academy of Endodontics meeting.   We are now full time in Sheffield and delighted to once again be able to offer emergency appointments in a very timely manner.

Dr Seddon has just spoken at the North of England dentistry Show in Manchester,  and is delighted to be organising the International Academy of Endodontics meeting also in Manchester in 2025.  It will be the first time the Academy have met outside of the US, and Dr Seddon has been instrumental in bringing this prestigious meeting to Manchester.  Along with attending the Langham Endodontic Study Group in London Dr Seddon continues his wide ranging CPD activities.

We have also now got a brilliant new Cone Beam Scanner in Sheffield. We are able to offer enhanced diagnostic services with this technology.

Carestream CBCT in Sheffield

Dr Seddon has been familiar with CBCT in endodontics since it's first usage over a dozen years ago. We are delighted now to have a Carestream 8100 unit which seamlessly integrates with our imaging software and Dr Seddon is fully qualified to write the neccessary diagnostic reports associated with the scans.  We are finding this invaluable in re treatment cases and those with complex anatomy or with difficult diagnosis.

Abu Dhabi 3 day course
Knowledge and experience

Dr Seddon is pleased to have worked with https://www.cappmea.com/capptipton/ in Singapore, Abu Dhabi and Dubai over a couple of weeks in February 2020.  It was a very busy time getting ready for these trips, but worth it as I met some lovely people, and helped teach hands on courses to over 60 dentists from many different cultures.

Dr and Mrs Seddon attended the Bioclear Summit in Arizona ( Feb 2022) meeting world class restorative and cosmetic dentists to see how we can continue to offer the best in restorative options to our patients following endodontic therapy.  This meeting was invitation only and we were one of two attendees from the UK, and the only endodontic practice to be represented.  It gave us some great ideas going forward to help with patient communication and we hope you will notice the changes once we have made them.

Endodontics in the heart of Sheffield

Our Mission is simple: to provide you with the finest endodontic treatment available anywhere.

We offer emergency treatment in Sheffield for toothache, and aim to treat referred cases within one week, and emergency cases on the same day.

We are always told we have the most comfortable chair by our patients. Every week we have patients drop off to sleep while we work.

Mr Seddon is the only UK Dentist to be awarded Fellowship of the International Academy Of Endodontics. He was presented with his certificate at the Annual meeting in Scottsdale in June 2019. He is greatly honoured and thrilled to have received this recognition by his peers and mentors. https://www.endodonticacademy.org/

Membership in this Academy, exclusive of its founding members, shall be by invitation only and be awarded to individuals who have been vetted and earned peer recognition for their endodontic achievements in clinical practice, research or education.

Our "make no compromises" philosophy places our practice in the top tier of endodontic practices, nationwide. Our "quality first" emphasis has helped many other endodontic practices reach beyond their potential.

Practice Profile

Our office is committed to treating you with respect and providing valuable care in a friendly and comfortable environment. We are committed to educating you about endodontics and assisting you in making appropriate treatment decisions.

We provide high quality endodontic treatment with the aid of the most advanced technology available in the field of endodontics:

  • State-of-the-art Global Surgical Operating Microscope which offers increased magnification and illumination to visualise complex root canal anatomy and allows for conservative treatment (preservation of tooth structure). Live feed to a 50 inch flatscreen monitor for teaching purposes.
  • We use digital radiography and a Cone Beam Scanner which reduces the amount of radiation exposure to our patients compared to conventional film and increases our diagnostic capabilities. We are able to see your teeth in 3 dimensions using the CBCT Scanner
  • Our practice uses a paperless record keeping system, The Digital Office (TDO). TDO is a secure, GDPR compliant, practice management software that is tailored to the specific needs of specialist endodontists. Online registration is a time-saving advantage for our patients, providing our patients and referring dentists the ability to view and update their information online at their convenience. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our office for more details and instructions about this process.

Patient and Dentist Testimonials,

Bill Seddon did an excellent job on my dental work.

My recent root canal was pain free,Big thank you to Bill for excellent job he has done on my tooth. His dental nurse made me feel relax and at ease.

LC,

Excellent Job

Had an emergency appointment as I was in severe pain. The dentist removed two silver points from my root canal which had been there for years. Apparently this is extremely difficult to do and am very grateful I had such an experienced dentist who was able to remove them. Would highly recommend!

Good morning.

Dull one here [the morning].
I work from home these days and it seems that the wider world doesn't care that I took the afternoon off  yesterday, and so I returned to a backlog of demands waiting on my virtual welcome mat.
My mouth was numb but my fingers still functioned so I apologise for this late response.
I shouldn't be surprised, of course, but I was wrong footed by the care and attention I received for the short time I was with you.
Mr Seddon will not need any further acknowledgement of his skills and dexterity at this stage of the game, but I was happy to become another tick in the box.
By that I am not suggesting for a second that I felt anything other than the most important person in the land for the duration.
It was,I gather[I know] a challenge  but seemingly, another success.
My grateful thanks also to the lady in pink [apologies for not taking her name] for her warm welcome, re-assurance and for enduring my banal observations.
That I was given an appointment so soon after the referral will probably remain the fastest on record and unlikely to be surpassed, even more so given that I was offered an opportunity  a full day before.
I had justifiable reason  to hesitate before agreeing to go ahead but when I left I had no doubt that it was the right thing to do.
With Europe on fire, who needs a holiday.

Dear Jaana and Bill,

Thank you so much for everything. My whole experience with you both was honestly amazing, starting with Jaana’s initial phone call which made me feel completely confident in going ahead with my treatment right the way through to the treatment itself, she was so caring and lovely. I had no real idea about the treatment itself, only horror stories from years before so I decided the head in sand approach was best. I was a little concerned about pain but that was mostly because I had a long drive afterwards, but you were both right, there was a absolutely no pain! It was even tempting to fall asleep during the procedure as it’s rare for me to spend an hour or so with nothing to do! I was worried about what it would be like once the anesthetic wore off but there was nothing, no pain at all and it’s the same this morning.

Today I am all smiley with my newly levelled tooth and am so glad that it’s all fixed and behind me, my next move is for nice unstained teeth to undo years of peaty Scottish water and I promise to never neglect my teeth again!

Thank you both hugely,
CW
Whole experience honestly amazing
